The TEFL Course ‘Let the music play! Teaching English Through Music’ collaboratively wrote a peace poem, set it to music and contributed it to the Global Peace Path. The Global Peace Path project is a peace campaign that was started in 2018 by LMU students and participants with refugee status (Website or Facebook)

The idea of the project is that students from all over the world write peace poems and thus use their foreign language skills to become advocates for a more peaceful world.

The TEFL Course ‘Let the music play! Teaching English Through Music’ started their project with the question ‘What is peace to you?’. Each student responded with one short statement to this question and so contributed a verse to the peace poem. Because of the pandemic, the statements were recorded individually at home and collected at a shared digital platform. A team of three students cut the statements, added a backing track and thus set the poem to music. The bridges were sung by course participants. Have fun watching the video!
