Conference Warming and Dinner

Conference warming

Participants arriving in Munich on Monday are welcome to join our conference warming. It will take place at a traditional Bavarian restaurant, the Augustiner am Dom, and offers an initial opportunity to socialize with fellow researchers from all over the world. This event is only open to those who pre-paid during conference registration.

March 25th, 19:00

Venue: Augustiner am Dom, Frauenplatz 8, 80331 München

How to get there:
Go to Marienplatz. When facing the City Hall (Rathaus), go to the left end of the building and turn right into Weinstraße. After a few meters, turn left into Sporerstraße leading up to the cathedral (Frauenkirche). Again after a few meters, the restaurant Augustiner am Dom is on your left-hand side.

Conference dinner

Having given ample food for thought during the first two days of the conference, we will also make sure you will not go hungry. The conference dinner at the Franziskaner takes place in a traditional Bavarian beergarden atmosphere. Of course, we will not only have a delicious dinner, but will have plenty of time to exchange ideas, make new contacts and try some Bavarian beer. This event is only open to those who pre-paid during conference registration.

March 27th, 20:00

Venue: Zum Franziskaner, Residenzstraße 9, 80333 München

How to get there:
Go to Odeonsplatz. When facing the Feldherrenhalle (the iconic loggia at Odeonsplatz), go to the left past the Feldherrenhalle and walk down the Residenzstraße for 400 metres. Do not forget to look at the Residenz, Munich's former royal palace (make sure you touch the guarding lion's shield - this spells luck!), and the opera house. Soon after you crossed Maximiliansstraße, Munich's famous shopping street, the Franziskaner soon appears on your right. The dinner will take place in the Franziskaner Hofgarten, an indoor beergarden.
